Our Philosophy
Unleashed K9 believes that successful dog training is dependent on a strong relationship and effective communication with your pet. Because every dog is different, we work to customize your dog's training plan to their individual learning style. Using primarily positive reinforcement, we believe it is important for your dog to fully understand what is expected of them before adding in other training tools to proof the skills. This balanced method allows us to help owners and dogs create a strong relationship while simultaneously achieving and exceeding their training goals.

Jenny Nordhausen Owner
Jenny is a dog enthusiast who's passion for dog training started nearly 15 years ago with her first dog, Molly. She immediately fell in love with the dog world and began competing right away.
Since then, her dog training career has taken off and she has competed with several dogs, titling them in Obedience, Conformation, Rally, CGC, Trick
Jenny is a dog enthusiast who's passion for dog training started nearly 15 years ago with her first dog, Molly. She immediately fell in love with the dog world and began competing right away.
Since then, her dog training career has taken off and she has competed with several dogs, titling them in Obedience, Conformation, Rally, CGC, Trick Dog and more. Additionally, she has competed in the sport of Schutzhund which consists of three phases: Tracking, Obedience, and Protection.
Alongside competing, she has spent the last five years working as a dog trainer, training countless dogs from 15+ states, and teaching private lessons, group classes and various types of sport dog. Additionally, Jenny has trained multiple dogs for service and therapy work. Throughout the years, she has spent countless hours learning from world class dog trainers and formulating her own dog training philosophy.
Jenny is also a certified Canine Good Citizen Evaluator through the AKC and certified in canine CPR and First Aid through Pet Edge.
Dog training is not just a hobby for Jenny, but a passion that has changed her life.
Michelle Nordhausen - Stay & Play Host
Michelle is a Stay and Play host for Unleashed K9's vacation boarders.
She goes above and beyond to ensure that each dog is receiving the attention and TLC that they are accustomed to. Because of this, she often has a full calendar and lots of repeat boarders!

With her free time, Michelle enjoys hobbies including, hiking, walking the dogs, crafting, and spending time outdoors!

Beginning her journey as an intern in early 2023, she has flourished and become a vital member of the team.
Her results speak for themselves, as Morgan has successfully trained dozens of dog and owner teams while simultaneously competing in a variety of dog sports herself.
Morgan specializes in puppy training, basic obedience, and foundational training for sport dogs. Additionally, she is a member with Disaster Dogs of Illinois and has trained her own dogs for search and rescue/recovery operations.
With a deep passion for animals, Morgan is highly regarded by her clients for both her training and boarding services.
She is the owner of four dogs, a cat, and several reptiles. In her free time, Morgan enjoys walking her dogs, working on her cars, and spending quality time with her family.

Rebekah’s history is unique as it started out with a beautiful black German Shepherd she used to own. Unfortunately, her dog exhibited signs of aggression at a young age creating a stressful environment. She worked with a few diffe

Rebekah has a unique passion for animals and understanda first hand the struggles owner face.
Rebekah’s history is unique as it started out with a beautiful black German Shepherd she used to own. Unfortunately, her dog exhibited signs of aggression at a young age creating a stressful environment. She worked with a few different trainers but was not gaining the results she needed and the problem became more severe as her dog matured. Despite her best efforts, her dog was eventually deemed a danger and euthanized.
A while after this heartbreak, she had the opportunity to own a friendly dog that needed an home and decided it was time to try again. She created a strong bond with this English Shepherd, Shallah, but knew her own anxiety from previous experience was starting to rub of on him.
After being referred from one of our repeat clients, Rebekah booked her dog for a board and train where he built up confidence and learned a bullet proof obedience skill set.
Rebekah did her homework and continued to work with her pup even after training. Since then, she has completed a number of road trips with her canine companion who has offered a sense of safety and comfort.
Rebekah is now a full on do enthusiast (happens with you spend too much time with us) and is taking some Stay and Play dogs of her own!
Her availability is limited and only open to dog friendly dogs! Rebekah does a great job with the pups, giving them lots of playtime, belly scratches and walks! Because of her history, she understands the important of structure and safety and works to create a secure yet fun environment. With her extensive training, she understands how to read basic dog body language and is comfortable handling dogs in various situations.
Rebekah and Shallah are eager to meet new clients as they continue on this journey!
